Dhanbad: Odisha Mining Corporation Ltd (OMC), a state-owned enterprise, signed an MoU with TEXMiN-IIT (ISM) Dhanbad, a premier Technology Translation Research Park backed by the Department of Science and Technology, to collaborate on capacity building, academic partnerships, and research in the mining sector.
The MoU was formally signed by Director (HR) of OMC Alok Kumar Pal and Deputy Director of IIT (ISM) Dhanbad and Project Director of TEXMiN Foundation Prof Dheeraj Kumar. Senior officials from both organisations were present.
The agreement is being seen as a significant step towards strengthening institutional capabilities, enhancing managerial and technical competencies, and promoting technology-led transformation across OMC’s mining operations
“The collaboration will support structured training programmes, policy-oriented learning, and innovation-led engagement aimed at building a more efficient, future-ready, and sustainable mining ecosystem,” an official release said.
The agreement also covers policy and compliance training, along with collaborative projects and case studies. The partners will also conduct management development programmes and short-term courses, while providing technical assistance and guidance on digital transformation in mining operations.
