Bhubaneswar: The ministerial staff (Amala) of Odisha government on Wednesday decided to put the statewide cease-work strike on hold following an assurance from 5T Chairman VK Pandian.
“The government has assured to fulfil our demands within 10 days,” said association convenor Chittaranjan Tarasia.
At least 30,000 ministerial officers (Amala) of 32 departments under the banner of Odisha Amala Sangha had threatened to launch a cease-work strike across Odisha and go on mass leave demanding a raise in grade pay and other perks from the government.
They are demanding a hike in grade pay from Rs 1900 to Rs 4200.
The association had earlier put its state-wide agitation on hold, sixteen days after its launch on June 1.
