Bhubaneswar: With the state government deciding to provide pickle with the meal at its Aahaar centres, a team of 11 members from Mission Shakti went on a capacity building-cum-exposure visit to Central Food Technology and Research Institute (CFTRI), CSIR laboratory in Mysore.
The key objective of the exposure was for upgrading the skill of Mission Shakti groups to absorb the technology transfer in pickle manufacturing from CFTRI to Mission Shakti members. It also aimed at enhancing entrepreneurial ability in the business environment.
During their visit on March 17 and 18, the members got an exposure to the process of pickle manufacturing, food safety and hygiene standard to be followed and understanding of various machineries to be used. CFTRI scientists conducted the two-day orientation programme.
Earlier, an MoU was signed between the Mission Shakti groups and CFTRI under the initiative of Housing and Urban Development department regarding the use of technology in production of pickle.
