Bhawanipatna: Basanta Das, a former Rajya Sabha member from Odisha, passed away at his residence in Bahadur Bagicha here on Wednesday. He was 80.
He was suffering from age-related ailments, family sources said.
Das represented Janata Dal at the Rajya Sabha from 1990 to 1996. He was also chairman of Bhawanipatna Municipality from 1985 to 1990.
