Bhubaneswar: Rajya Sabha member from Odisha Dr Sasmit Patra on Friday raised the demand for 33% reservation in Parliament and State Assemblies.
Speaking in the Rajya Sabha in the Special Mention, the BJD leader said Odisha Assembly had passed a resolution demanding 33% reservation for women in Parliament and State Assemblies.
He also mentioned that BJD delegations were sent to 22 national and regional parties by party president and Odisha chief minister Naveen Patnaik seeking support for passage of Women’s Reservation Bill.
Mentioning that the BJD had provided 33% reservation in Lok Sabha seats for women in 2019 elections, Patra reiterated the demand for passing the Women’s Reservation Bill in Parliament.
