Bhubaneswar: A day after announcing the interview date of the candidates, who had cleared Odisha Civil Services (OCS)-2020 main examination, the OPSC said it would reschedule the dates if those clash with UPSC main examination.
Chairman of Odisha Public Service Commission (OPSC) Satyajit Mohanty said this on Saturday in reply to a tweet expressing concern over clash of dates.
While announcing the results of OCS-2020 (Main) written examination on Friday, the OPSC had stated that document verification and personality test of the successful candidates will be held from September 19 at its office in Cuttack. The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has already scheduled the Civil Services (Main) examination from September 16 to 25.
“UPSC mains starts on 16th and ends on 25th. However, Odisha civil services interview is starting on 19th. As the dates clash, students will suffer a lot. Hence OPSC should reconsider and reschedule interview,” wrote Ashis Panda, IRS in a tweet.
Later, OPSC chairman tweeted, “OPSC interview is likely to continue till 30th Sept. Candidates who appear in the UPSC Mains should make a formal request with copy of Admit Card to reschedule their interview date. We will reschedule accordingly, once date-wise list comes out.”
It may be noted that total 785 candidates have qualified in the OCS 2020 written examination that was held between January 20 and February 8 this year. It included 287 women.
