Bhubaneswar: Odisha has a strong legacy in para badminton, pioneered by Paralympic and World Championship gold-medallist Pramod Bhagat.
That tradition is continuing with a number of para shuttlers doing the state and country proud in international events.
The latest success came via three Odisha para shuttlers who won a total of 4 medals at the Uganda Para Badminton International 2025.
Subhrajeet Maharana claimed two medals – silver in Men’s Singles SL4 and bronze in Men’s Doubles SL3-SL4 — in the tournament held at Kampala’s Lugo Arena from July 1 to 6.
Nurul Hossain Khan claimed a bronze in Men’s Singles WH2, and Bibhasindhu Barik got another bronze in Men’s Doubles SL3-SL4.
