Paradip: The week-long Kalinga Bali Jatra in Odisha’s Paradip is scheduled to begin on November 23. Slated to continue for seven days, the duration of the annual fair can be extended if needed.
Several important decisions regarding arrangements and execution of plans for the historic fair were finalised during a preparatory meeting.
According to information, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi is likely to inaugurate the festival this year as well. The organising committee has decided to extend a formal invitation to CM for the inaugural ceremony.
This time, the organisers are aiming to make the event grander and more engaging compared to previous editions. To draw more crowd, plans are afoot to rope in popular artists from Ollywood and Bollywood for cultural performances during the week-long celebration.
Industries Minister Sampad Swain stated that the Chief Minister would be invited to inaugurate the event and added that apart from preserving heritage and culture, the Kalinga Bali Yatra serves as an excellent medium to link the younger generation with history.
