Bhubaneswar: Odisha Vigilance sleuths launched simultaneous searches at six locations linked to Kartikeswar Behera, Panchayat Executive Officer (PEO) of Katabhal Gram Panchayat in Baragada district on charges of possessing assets disproportionate to his his known sources of income.
Behera is also the in-charge PEO of Firingimal Gram Panchayat and Gourenmunda Gram Panchayat under Gaisilet Block in Baragada district,
According to Odisha Vigilance, the searches are being conducted by a team comprising five Deputy Superintendents of Police (DSPs), 8 Inspectors, 2 Assistant Sub-Inspectors and other supporting staff on the strength of search warrants issued by the Special Vigilance Judge, Baragada.
The Vigilance team is carrying out searches at the following six places of Behera in Baragada district:
1.Double storeyed residential building of Sri Behera at Kandagarh near Gaisilet, Dist. Baragada.
2.One Market complex comprising six rooms at Kandagarh, Dist-Baragada.
3. One Godown comprising three rooms at Kandagarh, Dist-Baragada.
4.Four storyed under construction building at Gaisilet, Dist-Baragada.
5. House of his native village at Kandagarh, Dist-Baragada.
6.Office chamber of PEO at Katabhal G. P, Dist. Baragada.
The searches are continuing and further details regarding the seizure of assets are awaited.
