Odisha PG Admissions: 1st Merit List Out, 21121 Students Selected In Phase-I


Bhubaneswar: Odisha’s Higher Education Department on Friday published the first merit list for Phase-I admissions into Post Graduate courses for the academic session 2026-27.

Officials said altogether 135 Higher Education Institutions participated in the process. These institutions included 21 Universities and 114 Colleges across the state. Against a total sanctioned seat strength of 32,563, the department received 58,613 applications. Of these, 50,901 applicants were found eligible for selection, while 37,303 candidates completed their choice locking.

In the first round, 21,121 students have been selected. The list includes 6,918 male students, 14,202 female students and one transgender student.

Candidates who have been selected and wish to opt for the “Freeze” option will have to pay the admission fees online wherever applicable, download the intimation letter, and report to the allotted HEIs between August 8 and August 11, from 10 am to 5 pm, except on holidays, to complete the admission formalities.

Applicants who choose the “Slide” or “Float” option will also need to pay the admission fees online, but they are not required to report to the allotted institutions as they will not receive the intimation letter. Such candidates will have to wait for the second round of selection.
