Bhubaneswar: Plus II first-year classes in Odisha will begin on September 22, School and Mass Education Minister Samir Ranjan Dash informed on Tuesday.
According to sources, about 3.5 lakh students have already taken admission.
“The classroom teaching for the Class 11 students will begin on September 22. Already, 3.5 lakh students have taken admissions and dates have been extended for those who are yet to complete the admission process,” Dash told the media.
Around 39,884 candidates have been selected for admission into different undergraduate degree (UG) courses. They include 18,717 boys, 21,165 girls and 2 from the third gender category, according to the Student Academic Management System (SAMS).
A total of 21,041 students have been selected for the admission into Arts stream, 7,707 students for Physical Science, 3,400 for Commerce, 6,776 for Biological Science, 537 for Self Finance (SF) stream and 423 students for the Shastri stream.
