Bhubaneswar: Eminent leaders expressed shock and grief over the passing away of renowned sculptor of Odisha Raghunath Mohapatra due to COVID-19 on Sunday.
The sculptor was undergoing treatment for COVID-19 at AIIMS in Bhubaneswar since April 22.
In his message Prime Minister Narendra Modi tweeted:
The Governor of Odisha said Mohapatra will be remebered for his contributions towards popularising traditional crafts.
Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik remembered Mohapatra for his invaluable contribution to the enrichment of the arts and heritage of Odisha. He tweeted
Union Minister Pratap Sarangi expressed shock over the death of his friend.
Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan said Raghunath ji’s passing away is a great loss for the cultural world of Odisha as well as a personal one for me.
