Bhubaneswar: The highest number of plasma donors in the state are the personnel of Odisha Police.
Sharing the news, the Director General Police Abhay said police personnel form 46 per cent of the total plasma donors in the state. As per a tweet by the DGP, there are 2,166 plasma donors in Odisha of which 1002 are the Odisha Police.
By donating plasma, the Odisha Police personnel have saved COVID patients and strengthened fight against corona.

The first plasma donors of Odisha Police are two Jawans of OSAP 3rd Battalion, Koraput. They donated plasma at SCB Medical College and Hospital, Cuttack on 24, July 2020.
Odisha Police has been listed as frontline Covid warriors and their vaccination drive began in the second phase on February 6. The other frontline warriors included by the government are employees of collector office and municipality are taking the shots.

Stating that the noble deed by Odisha Police personnel is another example of selfless and dedicated service towards people, the DGP also remembered the 48 corona warriors of Odisha Police who died in the line of duty.
