Cuttack: Odisha police has decided to roll out awareness vans for curbing crime against women, particularly minor girls, informed Director General of Police (DGP) Rajendra Prasad Sharma at a press conference here on Wednesday.
“Under a special campaign called ‘Pari Pain Kathatie’, as many as 15 mobile vans will travel to different educational and social institutions in all the districts to educate communities and individuals on how to prevent sexual violence against women,” the DGP said.
The awareness campaign will be carried out from May 28 to June 12.
“In view of the rising crime against women and children, it has become very much necessary to take proactive steps to ensure their safety and security,” Sharma added.
