Bhubaneswar: Further intensifying its probe into the Odisha Police Sub-Inspector (SI) recruitment scam case, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has issued summons to some more examination aspirants to appear before the agency.
As per information, several candidates have been asked to appear before the CBI investigators for questioning and to present their statements in connection with the sensational scandal. Those summoned have been asked to present themselves at the CBI office in Bhubaneswar.
Sources said the central probe agency wants to collect key information from the aspirants during interrogation. Based on the inputs and evidence gathered, the agency will decide the future course of the investigation. The agency is reportedly trying to ascertain if aspirants had any role in the alleged irregularities in the exam.
Notably, the CBI had already filed chargesheet against the accused persons in connection with the scam. The case has triggered widespread concern, as alleged irregularities have raised serious questions about the transparency and integrity of the process of recruitment, conducted by the Odisha Police Recruitment Board (OPRB).
