Odisha Police To Start Drone Surveillance
Bhubaneswar: Odisha police has decided to bring in anti-drone UAVs (Unmanned Aerial Vehicle) to track drone usage. Registration of drones with the police for commercial use will soon be made mandatory.
“In the near future, a policy will be brought and Odisha police is also preparing itself for using drone for security purposes,” DGP RP Sharma said.
A Germany-based company presented anti-drone device that can detect registered and unregistered UAVs within a 10 km radius, track the operators and send it back to them. It is also capable of defusing drone cameras.
The Centre has planned to implement a drone policy from December 1. Flying over sensitive zones will then be banned.
