Odisha Police Team To Visit Uttar Pradesh, Delhi To Probe Network Of Arrested ‘Bawaria Gang’ Members
Bhubaneswar: Days after arresting four members of an inter-state gang, the Commissionerate Police has formed two special teams for conducting further probe about the network of the notorious criminals.
The two police teams are likely to be sent to Delhi and Uttar Pradesh to carry out further investigation, sources said. The four arrested gang members hail from Uttar Pradesh.
The Commissionerate Police had arrested four members of the notorious ‘Bawaria gang’, a nomadic clan from Uttar Pradesh, around five days ago. The gang members were involved in at least 28 cases in different parts of the state, including Cuttack, Cuttack Rural, Puri, Khorda, and Bhadrak districts.
The Commissionerate Police is also likely to move court to seen a seven-day remand of the four members of the gang. It is expected that the Commissionerate Police will try to ascertain the involvement of the gang members in other crimes in Bhubaneswar and other parts of the state.
The gang members used to visit various districts and commit a series of snatching and other crimes. After committing the crime, they used to return to their native places.
