Odisha Police To Start Phone-Up Programme To Track Domestic Violence Cases During Lockdown
Bhubaneswar: As cases of domestic violence are on the rise during the lockdown period, the Odisha Police is planning to launch a ‘Phone-Up Programme’ for the safety of women across the state.
As per official sources, the call centres will call up the domestic violence victims to ensure their well-being during the lockdown. If they report violence again, then district-level verification will be done.
The Phone-Up Programme’ will be implemented through the state-level call centre of the State Crime Records Bureau. The call centre will intimate the DSP/Addl. SP of the concerned Investigative Units For Crime Against Women regarding the cases.
