Bhubaneswar: On the direction of the School and Mass Education department, the primary schools on Saturday conducted parent-teacher meeting ahead of reopening on February 28.
During the meeting, the teachers informed the parents about COVID protocols to be followed by the children during their stay on the school premises. A counselling session of the parents was also held to enable them to prepare the students to be mentally ready to return to school after nearly 2 years.
In the first week of the reopening, the schools have been advised to hold engage the children in joyful learning like storytelling, art and crafts, painting, solving puzzles and clay modelling.
While the parents have been told to send their children by 9.30 am on the day of the reopening of the school, the physical classes will be held from 10 am to 1 pm. The baseline examinations of the students will be held from March 9 to 11.
It may be noted that the state government had cancelled its decision of reopening the primary schools twice earlier due to third wave of COVID and panchayat elections.
