Odisha Pro T20 League: Ex-International Pacers Brett Lee & Debashish Mohanty Named Brand Ambassadors

OCA meeting

Bhubaneswar: The excitement is building up for the Odisha Pro T20 League 2025.

The inaugural T20 franchise-based league, featuring six teams, will be held from September 15 to 24, it was decided at a special general meeting (SGM) of the Odisha Cricket Association (OCA).

Two matches will be played every day.

Two former international fast bowlers – renowned Australian Brett Lee and Odisha’s Debashish Mohanty — will serve as brand ambassadors of the league.

Mohanty played 2 Tests and 45 ODIs for India between 1997 and 2001, and express pacer Lee represented Australia in 76 Tests, 221 ODIs and 25 T20Is.

Star Sports will telecast matches of the league, while Fancode will livestream all games, the OCA said.

OCA will be organising the league in association with Arivaa Sports, a sports event management company.

“Players’ draft will be done within a few days and the franchises will be allowed to select players for their respective teams,” OCA said, adding that a grand opening ceremony will be organised.

OCA president Pankaj Lochan Mohanty presided over the SGM, which was attended by OCA vice-president Jagamohan Pattnaik, secretary Sanjay Behera, joint secretary Prabhat Bhol, treasurer Bikash Pradhan and apex council member Pratap Chandra Pradhan.

The OCA announced the list of marquee players for the T20 league a week ago.
