Jagatsinghpur: Odisha Higher Education Department has started investigating alleged irregularities during Plus -III admissions in SVM College in Jagatsinghpur. The college is affiliated to Utkal University in Bhubaneswar.
A three-member team from the department checked documents related to the admissions and discussed the matter with some college staff on Saturday.
According to the allegations, the college had enrolled more students than the number of seats in 2015-16. It also allegedly issued fake registration numbers to students for examination
When some students applied for migration certificates to Utkal University, the officials told them that the registration numbers issued to them were fake.
The committee will submit its report to the government after the investigation.
College Principal Arabind Chaini said appropriate action will be taken based on the report.
