Bhubaneswar: The GST collection in Odisha has gone up by 10 per cent in November this year as compared to the tax mobilised during the same month in 2023.
The state has collected Rs 4,704 crore last month as against Rs 4,295 crore collected during the corresponding period in 2023, according to the Union Finance Ministry.
The overall gross GST collections for November rose by 8.5% in the country, surpassing Rs 1.82 lakh crore, fueled by higher revenues from domestic transactions.
The breakdown of collections was as follows: Central GST at Rs 34,141 crore, State GST at Rs 43,047 crore, Integrated IGST at Rs 91,828 crore, and cess at Rs 13,253 crore. The highest-ever GST collection was recorded in April 2024, totaling over Rs 2.10 lakh crore.
For November, GST from domestic transactions increased by 9.4%, reaching Rs 1.40 lakh crore, while revenue from imports grew by about 6%, amounting to Rs 42,591 crore. Refunds issued during the month were worth Rs 19,259 crore, reflecting an 8.9% decline compared to the previous year.
After accounting for refunds, net GST collections rose by 11%, totaling Rs 1.63 lakh crore. Net GST collection for the current fiscal year up to November stands at Rs 12.90 lakh crore, compared to Rs 11.81 lakh crore in the same period last year.
