Odisha Records Highest Single-Day Spike Of 1981 COVID-19 Cases; Khurda Leads The List
Bhubaneswar: The COVID-19 tally in Odisha rose to 52,653 on Thursday with the highest single-day spike of 1,981 positive cases in the last 24 hours.
Of the new cases reported from all 30 districts, 1,225 were detected in quarantine centres and 756 were local contact cases, the I&PR department tweeted.
Khurda led the tally with 274 cases, followed by Ganjam (267), Kandhamal (171), Sundargarh (145), Cuttack (131), Koraput (97), Puri (77), Bhadrak (65), Malkangiri (64), Jajpur (60), Balasore (59), Sonepur (57), Nayagarh (56), Rayagada (55), Jagatsinghpur (42), 39 each in Dhenkanal and Kalahandi, Sambalpur (38), Mayurbhanj (37), Kendrapada (29), 27 each in Bargarh and Balangir, Keonjhar (23), Boudh (22), Nabarangpur (18), 16 each in Deogarh and Nuapada, eight each in Jharsuguda and Gajapati and Angul (6).
With 314 deaths and 36,478 recoveries so far, Odisha now has 15808 active cases.
