Odisha Records Season’s Lowest Temp At 5°C, Bhubaneswar & Cuttack Shivers At 13°C

Bhubaneswar: The night temperature plummeted to season’s lowest of 5 degree Celsius at G Udayagiri in Odisha’s Kandhamal district in the last 24 hours, the Bhubaneswar Meteorological Centre informed on Wednesday.

Eleven other places in the state recorded temperature below 10 degree Celsius – Phulbani (7), Sundargarh’s Kirei (7.5), Koraput (8), Angul (8), Koraput’s Semiliguda (8.4), Kandhamal’s Daringbadi (8.5), Keonjhar (8.6), Sundargarh’s Rourkela (8.6), Sundargarh (8.8), Bhadrak’s Ranital (9), and Jharsuguda (9.2).

The twin cities of Bhubaneswar and Cuttack also continued to feel the winter chill at 13 degree Celsius each, 1.9 and 1 degrees below normal respectively.

The MeT office had earlier predicted no large change in the night temperature across the state during next 4-5 days. Shallow to moderate fog may also occur at one or two places in Sundargarh, Kandhamal, Kalahandi, Koraput, Jharsuguda, Nabarangpur during next 24 hours.
