Odisha Records Second Highest COVID-19 Cases, Khurda Leads With 332; 42761 Samples Tested
Bhubaneswar: The COVID-19 tally in Odisha touched 54,630 on Friday with the second-highest single-day spike of 1977 positive cases in the last 24 hours.
Of the new cases reported from all 30 districts, 1241 have been detected in quarantine centres while 736 are local contact cases, the I & PR department tweeted.
Khurda leads the tally with 332 cases, followed by Ganjam (280), Mayurbhanj (120), Bhadrak (118), Cuttack (101), Gajapati (93), Koraput (90), Sundargarh (88), Puri (83), Nayagarh (75), Rayagarh (70), Jajpur (69), Kandhamal (60), Sambalpur (59), Balasore (56), Malkangiri (52), Kalahandi (48), Dhenkanal (40), Jagatsinghpur (34), Bargarh (22), Nuapada (20), Nabarangpur (17), Jharsuguda (11), Keonjhar (10), seven each in Sonepur and Balangir, Kendrapada (6), Boudh (5), and two each in Angul and Deogarh.
Moreover, Odisha has tested the highest of 42761 samples for COVID-19 in the last 24 hours. Of them, 6635 have been tested through RTPCR, 36,002 -Antigen and 124-TrueNat.
With 314 deaths and 37900 recoveries, Odisha now has 16353 active cases.
