Odisha Reports 1208 New COVID Cases; TPR Drops Below 2% Again
Bhubaneswar: After registering a rise in daily COVID caseload for three consecutive days, Odisha reported a marginal drop in the new infections on Friday.
According to Information & Public Relations Department, 1208 fresh cases were detected in the state in the last 24 hours, taking the active cases tally to 13,006.
With these fresh infections being detected from 66,146 swab samples, the test positivity rate (TPR) dropped below 2 per cent again and stood at 1.74 per cent.
The state had reported a TPR of 2.02 on Thursday and 2.01 per cent a day earlier. It was 1.9 per cent on Tuesday. The daily caseload at 1032 on Tuesday was the lowest in three months. Odisha had reported 1315 fresh infections on Wednesday and while 1342 more people were found infected on Thursday.
Among the new cases, 702 are from quarantine and 506 local contacts
Khurda district registered the highest 399 infections, followed by Cuttack district with 173 cases.
