Bhubaneswar: Odisha recorded seven COVID-19 deaths taking the state toll to 1,988 on Saturday.
According to the Health Department sources, two casualties have been reported from Rayagada and one each from Ganjam, Kalahandi, Khurda, Puri and Sundargarh in the last 24 hours.
The deceased have been identified as:
- A 38-year-old male from Bhubaneswar who was also suffering from Diabetes Mellitus and Hypertension.
- A 35-year-old male from Ganjam district.
- A 78-year-old female from Puri district who was also suffering from Diabetes Mellitus, Hypertension.
- A 50-year-old female from Kalahandi district who was also suffering from Hypertension.
- A 53-year-old male of Rayagada district who was also suffering from Diabetes Mellitus, Hypertension.
- A 68-year-old female of Rayagada district who was also suffering from Diabetes Mellitus, Hypertension and Bronchial Asthma.
- A 45-year-old male from Sundargarh district.
With two more casualties, Rayagada district has now reported 50 COVID-19 deaths so far.
Likewise, a total of 256 deaths were reported in Ganjam, 39 in Kalahandi, 344 in Khurda, 120 in Puri, and 181 in Sundargarh.
Khurda district saw the highest 344 deaths followed by Cuttack (144).
However, Odisha reported 6,116 new COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours.
