Bhubaneswar. Odisha saw a marginal fall in new COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours with 8,313 more people testing positive for the virus.
A total of 9541 cases were detected the previous day.
According to the I & PR department, 4655 of the fresh infections are from quarantine and 3658 local contacts.
The highest of 974 new cases have been reported from Khurda, followed by Cuttack (593) and Mayurbhanj (532).

These cases have been detected from 61,613 samples sent for tests. With this, the test positivity rate in Odisha dropped to 13.49 per cent.
It is for the second consecutive day that the state has tested over 60,000 samples. On Sunday, the TPR was 14.44 per cent with 9541 of 66,057 samples testing positive for the virus.
The state now has 91663 active cases.
While extending the lockdown by 16 days, the state government on Sunday had said that it was expecting the pandemic situation to improve in the next 10 days.
