Puri: Renowned sand artist Sudarsan Pattnaik was specially featured during latest episode of ‘Kaun Banega Crorepati’ (KBC), aired on 19 October.
The highlight of the episode was Pattnaik’s internationally-acclaimed climate change sand sculpture. Host Amitabh Bachchan dedicated a segment to showcase this specific three-metre-high artwork, which earned Pattnaik historical glory earlier this year as the first Indian to win the prestigious Russia Grand Sand Master Cup 2026 in Kaliningrad.
The powerful masterpiece visually contrasts two faces of the Earth: one ravaged by environmental degradation and global warming, and the other flourishing through sustainability and afforestation.
Following the broadcast, the Padmashri awardee artist shared his gratitude on social media the next morning on Tuesday, fondly recalling it as a special moment.
“A special moment that will always stay close to my heart! Sand art featured on yesterday’s episode of #KBC on @SonyTV. My heartfelt gratitude to @SrBachchan Sir and the entire #KBC team,” Patnnaik posted on Facebook along with a video of the KBC segment.
