The guidelines further stated that online and distance learning would continue in schools and colleges until they reopen physically.

However, the guidelines have allowed the conduct of academic, competitive, and entrance exams in the state along with evaluation and other related administrative activities.

The guidelines also stated that the School and Mass Education Department and Higher Education Department can allow teaching and non-teaching staff to attend schools for online teaching, telephonic-counseling, and related work, as per an India Today report.

The new guidelines by the Odisha government has allowed research scholars and postgraduate students of technical and professional courses to visit their institutions for laboratory or experimental works in consultation with MHA, based on the assessment of the situation, and keeping in view the covid-19 situation in the state.
