Odisha Sees 50% Drop In Active COVID Cases In One Week; Daily Count Dips Below 200
Bhubaneswar: Odisha has seen a 50 per cent drop in the active COVID cases from the last week, Health Minister Naba Kisore Das tweeted on Monday.
The state currently has 2610 active cases and the daily caseload has dropped below 200 in the last 24 hours after remaining below 300-mark for two consecutive days. A total of 171 people were found infected on Monday and among them, 32 are in the age group of 0-18 years.
“As we head into a month of festivals, try to avoid public gatherings to reduce the active cases,” the minister added.
The Odisha government has directed the district administrations to issue restrictions at their level on public gatherings at temples and places of worship as they deem proper in view of the prevailing pandemic situation. Wearing face masks, physical distancing and handwashing/hand sanitiser are mandatory for devotees.
According to the I & PR department, new cases have been reported from 25 of 30 districts in the last 24 hours.
