Bhubaneswar: The daily COVID-19 caseload breached the 6000-mark for the second consecutive day on Friday with 6215 more people testing positive for the virus in the last 24 hours.
This is the highest one-day COVID-19 spike since the start of the pandemic in the state.
According to the I & PR Department, 3604 are from quarantine and 2611 local contact cases. Eleven of the 30 districts have recorded over 200 cases.
While Khurda alone has reported 950 new infections, 684 and 684 have been detected in Sundargarh and Kalahandi respectively.
