Odisha Sees Marginal Fall Daily COVID Caseload; Nil Cases In 6 Districts
Bhubaneswar: Odisha witnessed a marginal fall in daily COVID caseload on Thursday as 644 people tested positive for the virus in the last 24 hours against 734 the previous day.
Among them, 72 are children below 18 years of age, which is 11.18 per cent of the new infections.
The daily cases count was 462 on Tuesday. The state had reported 510 new infections on Monday, 623 on Saturday and 628 on Friday.
According to the I & PR department, 375 of the new cases are from quarantine and 269 local contacts. Khurda district saw the highest 283 people testing positive for the virus, followed by Cuttack (77) and Balasore (34). Six districts reported nil cases.

Besides, 67 are from the state pool.
With these cases being detected from 72,193 samples, the test positivity rate (TPR) is 0.89 per cent. The TPR was 1.05 per cent on Wednesday.
Odisha now has 5,713 active cases.
