Odisha Sends Back PPE Consignment, Says It Has Enough Stock
Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government on Sunday sent back 40 truckloads of personal protective equipment (PPE), stating that that it had enough stock.
Talking to mediapersons here, Health and Family Welfare Minister Naba Kishore Das said that the procurement meeting held on May 26 revealed that the state had sufficient stock of PPE kits.
“It was decided that there will be no further procurement of PPE kits. The company, which has sent the PPE consignment from Punjab, can divert it to the other states,” the minister added.
On the other hand, the company spokesperson in a statement to the media said that the Odisha State Medical Corporation Ltd (OSMCL) had confirmed the procurement of PPE kits. However, the corporation against the earlier deadline for July suddenly revised it to May 26 and then refused to accept the delivery.
