Odisha Shivers At 7.4°C; Temp Remains Below Normal In Bhubaneswar
Bhubaneswar: Amid slight drop in the night temperature across Odisha, G Udayagiri in Kandhamal district remained the coldest place in the state in the last 24 hours recording a minimum of 7.4 degree Celsius, Bhubaneswar Meteorological Centre said on Sunday.
The weather agency further said that ten places recorded temperature at and below 12 degree Celsius. Apart from G Udayagiri, Daringbadi and Phulbani in Kandhamal district recorded 8.5 degree and 9.5 degree Celsius respectively.
The minimum (night) temperature stood at 8 degree Celsius in Koraput, while it was 9.9 degree Celsius at Semiliguda in the district, 11.5 degree in Nabarangpur, 11.77 degree Celsius at Kirei in Sundargarh district, and 12 degree Celsius in Keonjhar, Angul, and Bhawanipatna.
The mercury also dropped below 15 degree Celsius in the state capital, 0.6 degree below normal. The twin cities of Bhubaneswar and Cuttack recorded 14.4 and 15.4 degree Celsius respectively.
Rourkela and Phulbani experienced dense fog, reducing visibility to 50-200 metre, this morning. Shallow to moderate fog occurred in Paradip, Jharsuguda, Bhawanipatna, Jharsuguda and Keonjhar.
The MeT Centre has stated that dense fog is expected to continue to engulf several places in the state during the next 3 days. Shallow to moderate fog is also likely at a few places in Coastal Odisha, South Interior Odisha and at one or two places in remaining places in the state.
