Bhubaneswar: Noted Odia singer Shakti Mishra was shifted to the ICU of a private hospital in the Odisha capital after his condition deteriorated on Monday.
According to sources, he developed kidney-related ailments after undergoing coronary artery bypass surgery recently. It is believed that he is suffering from Multiple Organ Dysfunction Syndrome (MODS).
Mishra was admitted to KIMS Hospital on Sunday complained of blood vomiting (Haematemesis) and later shifted to the ICU as his condition turned critical.
His wife Namita Mishra informed that a team of doctors from different departments is supervising his treatment.
According to doctors, he needs immediate blood transfusion.
Wishes for his speedy recovery are pouring in from across the state.
A native of Dhenkanal, Mishra gained popularity as a playback singer in the 90s. He carved a niche for himself in the Odia film industry with hit songs like Mo Bhugola Re Bhala Hauthila, Hai Hai Mora Malli Phoola Gajara, Bayasa Rajapathare, Tora Lamba Beni and Megha Re Megha.
