Bhubaneswar: In order to promote ‘Skilled-in-Odisha’ brand and make the youths of the state skilled and employable not only inside the country but also abroad, the government will organise the Odisha Skill Conclave 2023 at Kalinga Stadium in Bhubaneswar from April 20.
Revealing this at a presser in the city on Monday, Minister of State for Skill Development and Technical Education Priti Ranjan Ghadei said the conclave is the first of its kind in India. The 3-day conclave would continue from April 20 to 22.
Representatives from various sectors including industry, academia, training partners, sector skills councils, international organisations, country specific representatives and skill ambassadors from the state would participate in the meet. The platform would offer an opportunity to deliberate, build consensus and develop a road map for future courses of action to develop Odisha as a skilled workforce hub for the New World.
“The inaugural day will see plenary session discussion on Building a coherent Skill Ecosystem in India, Commendation of Skilled Manpower. The second day will have discussion on Making India the Skill Capital of the World and Empowering Women through Skills. A special session and exhibit on drone technology as well as discussion on role of Sector Skill Councils is planned for final day,” said the minister.
Usha Padhi, Principal Secretary, SDTE said the event will see participation from renowned international and national dignitaries/intellectuals/industry representatives active in skilling in the plenary discussions. It will also have congregation of over 2000 students and 1000 delegates from different sectors.
The event will be host exhibits from ITIs/ Polytechnics/ Engineering Colleges/Universities as well as from prominent industries and other Departments of Government. MoUs with industry partners regarding skilling in the state will also be signed at the venue.
To create awareness on the event new and unique ‘Pathapranta Utsava’ has been planned on Janpath in Bhubaneswar. Cultural events have also been planned to display the rich heritage of Odisha and its advancement in skilling.
