Cuttack: International sprinter of Odisha Dutee Chand had a narrow escape after her met with an accident near Trisulia in Cuttack district on Saturday.
As per information, the mishap took place when a tyre of her car suddenly burst in Trisulia area. As a result, the vehicle lost balance and dashed against a road divider.
While the car was damaged in the incident, Dutee Chand escaped unhurt and no injury was caused to anyone travelling in the vehicle.
As the Olympian happens to be one of the most celebrated athletes in the country, the accident involving her drew immediate attention from different quarters.
Born in Jajpur district of Odisha, Dutee Chand rose to prominence as a professional sprinter specializing in the 100m and 200m events. She represented India at the 2016 Rio Olympics and the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, becoming a symbol of resilience and determination. She is also the first Indian woman to win a gold medal in the 100m sprint at the World University Games in 2019.
