Bhubaneswar: In a move to curb the growing menace of inter-state drug syndicates, the Special Task Force (STF) of Odisha Police has stepped up its crackdown against smugglers in a special statewide drive.
Acting on instruction from the state government, the Superintendents of Police (SPs) in all the districts have been mobilised to lead intensive raids over a two-day period.
Sources said that plainclothes officers have been deployed across slums, shops, and suspected hideouts to ensure stealth and efficiency.
Significantly, the STF is coordinating closely with national agencies like the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) and the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) to track cross-border drug networks.
This crackdown is part of a larger 15-day anti-narcotics operation already underway, with STF SPs spearheading targeted actions. The initiative reflects Odisha’s commitment to eradicating drug trafficking and safeguarding public health.
