Bhubaneswar: Rajiv Kumar, Vice President (Operations) at Tata Steel Kalinganagar in Odisha, has resigned from his position. He reportedly submitted his resignation to Tata Steel’s Managing Director and CEO, T V Narendran, on Wednesday, sources said.
An alumnus of BIT Sindri, Kumar had joined Tata Steel in 1990. With years of experience in Tata Steel Jamshedpur as well as in the Wires Division, he was assigned the key responsibility of leading the Tata Steel Project in Kalinganagar. Kumar’s resignation comes at a challenging time for Tata Steel as he played a key role in the success of the Kalinganagar Project and has been a prominent figure within the company. Having served Tata Steel for over 25 years, he has held various important positions and is recognised for his dedication and leadership.
The reason for his departure was simply listed as “resignation,” with no additional details provided regarding the circumstances. Confirming the resignation, Rajesh Rajan, Head of Corporate Communications at Tata Steel, stated, “Rajiv Kumar has resigned from the post of Vice President (Operations), Tata Steel Kalinganagar. We won’t be able to provide any more details as of now.”
The company’s disclosure did not elaborate on any plans for filling the vacancy or on any potential impact the resignation might have on the company’s operations. Kumar has also informed his subordinates and union leaders about his decision.
Following his resignation, Tata Steel is yet to announce a successor or an interim replacement for the Vice President (Operations) role at Kalinganagar.
