Odisha Teacher Accused Of Taking Money To Provide Cheat Sheets To Students, Attacks Scribe
Balangir: A teacher allegedly attacked a journalist, who was covering an alleged malpractice at Maneipada exam centre in Patnagarh of Balangir district.
He has been detained by police for questioning.
According to sources, the accused teacher had allegedly taken money from parents of candidates to provide them with cheat sheets during the exam. However, he was unable to do so because of the CCTV cameras installed at the centre.
Irked over it, the parents created a ruckus at the centre. The journalist soon reached the spot to cover it and was attacked by the teacher.
Saturday also saw 110 students being caught for malpractice. Among them, 109 students were appearing for the Second Language English (SLE) and one for Madhyama – Prayogatmaka Sanskruta.
These students were caught by the squads of Board of Secondary Education, which is conducting the annual matriculation exam.
