Bhadrak: A female teacher has been placed under suspension in Odisha’s Bhadrak district for allegedly submitting a fake (Bachelor of Education) BEd certificate for the job.
The teacher has been identified as Rebati Jena. She was working at Karanjiadia Government High School under Basudevpur block in the district. She started as a Sikshya Sahayaka (SS) in Banta back in 2005 and was transferred to the Nodal High School of Karanjiadia in 2017.
Basudevpur Block Education Officer (BEO) Jagabandhu Sahu said that Jena was appointed as a teacher in 2005 and her job was regularised in 2011. “She was suspended after the certificate was found to be fake. An FIR has been lodged against her. Departmental proceedings have also been initiated against the teacher,” he added.
