Bhubaneswar: ODISHA TEX 2025, billed as the biggest textile event in the Eastern India, is all set to open at the State Convention Centre in in Bhubaneswar on Friday.
Slated to be inaugurated by Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, the mega event will be attended by over 500 delegates, including top industry leaders, senior government officials, and investors.
The event aims to position Odisha as a leading hub for textiles, apparel, and technical textiles in the country. It is expected to draw top textile companies, global brands, manufacturers, startups, and young professionals under one roof, offering them a platform to explore investment prospects in apparel, footwear, accessories, technical textiles, and luggage manufacturing.
The event is expected to witness the signing of several memoranda of understanding (MoUs) and significant investment announcements by leading players in the textile sector. These developments are projected to significantly boost Odisha’s industrial landscape and aid in the state’s ambition to emerge as the ‘Textile Capital of India’ by 2030.
Delegates from prominent textile centres like Tirupur, Bengaluru, Surat, the National Capital Region (NCR), Punjab, and West Bengal are expected to participate in the event.
The state government will launch three textile parks in Balangir, Jagatsinghpur and Keonjhar districts and two apparel parks in Ganjam and Sambalpur and a footwear park in Cuttack district on the occasion.
Industries Minister Sampad Chandra Swain reviewed the preparations for the mega event on Thursday. “ODISHA TEX 2025 is not just an event but a mission to showcase Odisha’s strength in the textile sector and create a platform for investment, innovation, and employment. This event will bring together global and national leaders to shape the future of textile manufacturing in the state,” Swain said.
The event will serve as a strategic platform for fostering sustainable growth in the textile sector through MoU signings, industry interactions, and key policy announcements.
