Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government will enforce safety protocols in schools once they reopen after the summer break to protect students and staff amid a gradual uptick in COVID cases.

“All students and teachers have to adhere to COVID-19 safety measures when schools resume. Given the increasing cases, everyone must stay vigilant. Health and safety are our top priorities,” School and Mass Education Minister Nityananda Gond told reporters on Thursday.

He further stated that students and teachers would be required to remain cautious. “Students with symptoms like a cold will be asked to wear masks at school, while those with more serious symptoms will be advised to stay home and isolate. We will strictly comply with all Health Department COVID-19 guidelines,” he added.
