Bhubaneswar: The coldwave conditions will continue in Odisha for another 2 days, following which the night temperature may gradually rise by 2-3 degree Celsius, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) informed on Tuesday.
While dry weather will prevail across the state, the Met office has forecast shallow to moderate fog at one or two places in Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Boudh, Cuttack, Angul, Dhenkanal, Jajpur and Bhadrak till 8.30 am on Wednesday.
Kandhamal, Ganjam, Nayagarh, Khurda, Puri, Cuttack, Angul, Dhenkanal, Jagatsinghpur, Kendrapada, Jajpur and Bhadrak will experience fog in the subsequent 24 hours.
In the last 24 hours, 11 places in the state recorded a minimum temperature of 10 degree Celsius and below. The mercury plummeted to 5.4 degree Celsius at G Udayagiri followed by Phulbani and Similiguda in Koraput at 7.5 degree Celsius each. The twin cities of Bhubaneswar and Cuttack recorded 13.6 degree Celsius and 13.4 degree Celsius respectively.
Cold winds from North India and a change in the wind pattern have influenced the drop in temperature in the last two days, the IMD said.
