Bhubaneswar: After the cyclone scare and heavy rainfall warning, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast thunderstorm with lightning and gusty surface wind speed reaching 30-40 kmph at one or two places in Deogarh, Angul, Dhenkanal, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj and Balasore on Sunday.
Yellow warning for thunderstorm/lightning has also been issued for Koraput, Malkangiri, Nabarangpur, Nuapada, Gajapati, Rayagada, Kandhamal, Jajpur and Bhadrak. Light to moderate rain or thunderstorm is also likely to occur at a few places in Deogarh, Angul, Dhenkanal, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Koraput, Malkangiri and Nabarangpur during this period.
On Monday, thunderstorm with lightning and gusty surface wind speed reaching 30-40 kmph are very likely to occur at one or two places in Jharsuguda, Sambalpur, Deogarh, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Angul, Dhenkanal, Jajpur, Bhadrak and Balasore. Thunderstorm with lightning is also likely at one or two places in Sundargarh, Malkangiri, Koraput, Nabarangpur, Nuapada, Kalahandi, Balangir and Kandhamal.
Light to moderate rain or thunderstorm is very likely to occur at a few places in Deogarh, Angul, Dhenkanal, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Koraput, Malkangiri and Nabarangpur, and at one or two places in rest of Odisha.
On Tuesday, thunderstorm with lightning and gusty surface wind speed reaching 30-40 kmph have been forecast for one or two places in Jharsuguda, Sambalpur, Deogarh, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Angul, Dhenkanal, Jajpur, Bhadrak, Balasore while thunderstorm with lightning is also likely at one or two places in Sundargarh, Malkangiri, Koraput, Nabarangpur, Nuapada, Kalahandi, Balangir and Kandhamal. North Interior Odisha, Malkangiri, Koraput, Nabarangpur and a few places at the remaining places in the state are likely to experience light to moderate rain or thunderstorm during this period.
The following day, similar weather conditions with gusty wind are likely to prevail in Angul, Dhenkanal, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, north Coastal Odisha, Khurda and Puri. Thunderstorm with lightning is also very likely at one or two places in Koraput, Rayagada, Gajapati, Ganjam, Kandhamal and Nayagarh. Light to moderate rain or thunderstorm is very likely to occur at a few places in North Odisha and at one or two places in South Odisha during this period.
On Thursday, thunderstorm with lightning is very likely to occur at one or two places in Malkangiri, Koraput, Rayagada, Gajapati, Ganjam, Kandhamal, Boudh, Angul, Dhenkanal, Sundargarh and Keonjhar. Light to moderate rain or thunderstorm is also likely at a few places in Koraput, Malkangiri, Rayagada, Gajapati, Ganjam, Kandhamal, Boudh, Angul, Dhenkanal, Sundargarh, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj and at one or two places in the rest of Odisha.

Thunderstorm with lightning is very likely to occur at one or two places in Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Jajpur, Bhadrak, Balasore, Koraput, Malkangiri, Nabarangpur and Rayagada.
Light to moderate rain or thunderstorm is also likely at one or two places in Sundargarh, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Jajpur, Bhadrak, Balasore, Koraput, Malkangiri, Nawarangpur, Rayagada, Gajapati, Ganjam and Nayagarh.
Notably, Odisha witnessed a rise in the mercury level with nine places recording 40 degree Celsius or more with Sonepur being the hottest at 42.5 degrees on Friday. The IMD has forecast no large change in the maximum temperature during the next 4-5 days.
