Bhubaneswar: Coffee Board Chairman M J Dinesh met Odisha’s Deputy Chief Minister Kanak Vardhan Singh Deo at Lok Seva Bhawan in Bhubaneswar on Wednesday and discussed various issues.
Principal Secretary to the Agriculture Department Arabinda Kumar Padhee was present during the meeting and gave his thoughtful opinion.
It was highlighted that various flavours of coffee are currently being grown in natural surroundings in Koraput district of Odisha. It is highly appreciated by the people for its taste and quality and now Odisha’s Koraput coffee has found a place on the global coffee map.
Koraput coffee is now also being grown in Rayagada, Gajapati, Kalahandi, Kandhamal and Keonjhar. Coffee Board Chairman Dinesh discussed with Deputy CM Singh Deo about the steps being taken to increase the market connectivity and production of these.
Singh Deo, who holds Agriculture portfolio, emphasised on increasing the production of coffee, developing infrastructure and opening more outlets. As a gift, a coffee packet and a book on coffee were presented to Singh Deo.
Coffee Board Joint Director Shivakumar Swamy, Odisha Nodal Officer Upendra Kumar Shah, Coffee Board Member Manoj Dubey, P.R.M. Ravichandran were present at the meeting, an official release said.
