Bhubaneswar: Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan said that Odisha will get the remaining funds under the Rashtriya Uchatar Shiksha Abhiyan (RUSA) for academic excellence soon. Pradhan said this after a review of the status of mass and higher education in the state at a meeting here on Saturday.
Since its launch in 2013, RUSA has been providing funds to the state’s select higher education institutions to improve the quality of state institutions.
“The Covid-19 pandemic has hampered two academic years in the country. Hence, the academic session of 2021-22 should continue immediately following the completion of the vaccination drive,” Pradhan said.
“Classroom teaching will be imparted to all Post Graduate students soon while keeping in mind the pandemic situation,” the education minister said.
According to the secretary of the Odisha Education Department, Saswat Mishra, the Minister stressed the cooperation between the Centre and the State for development in higher education.
“The Minister emphasised on joint efforts by both Centre and State for improvement of teachers in research, publication work and various other aspects. Various schemes of the Government of India, Government of Odisha and the University Grants Commission (UGC) were also up for discussion in the meeting,” Mishra said.
