Odisha To Have Science Park In All Districts, Planetarium In Six: Minister
Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government has decided to set up Science Park in all 30 districts and the planetarium in six districts, said Science and Technology minister Ashok Chandra Panda in the State Assembly.
The minister, while replying to a starred question, said that the Science Park will be set up in the 10 districts of Ganjam, Nayagarh, Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Koraput, Bhadrak, Puri, Balangir, Sundargarh and Jagatsinghpur in the first phase. Besides, the six districts of Ganjam, Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Balangir, Sundargarh and Rourkela will have a planetarium each.
Apart from the two science centres in Bhubaneswar and Dhenkanal, which are managed by the Centre, the state has the Pathani Samanta Planetarium in Bhubaneswar, Dr APJ Abdul Kalam Planetarium at Burla in Sambalpur district, the Pathani Samanta Museum at Khandapada in Nayagarh district and a district-level science centre at Tukurla in Bargarh district, the minister added.
