Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Police will intensify the joint operation against Maoists very soon.
This was decided at a meeting between the state’s Director General of Police (DGP) RP Sharma and the CRPF DG Rajiv Rai Bhatnagar in Bhubaneswar on Thursday.
Talking to mediapersons after the meeting, Sharma laid emphasis on the joint operation and proper coordination among the Maoist-infested districts.
Stating that Maoists are active in 15 districts of Odisha, he said of these districts, the ultras are very much active in Malkangiri, Koraput, Kalahandi, Rayagada and Kandhamal.
The CRPF DG said that as Maoist activity in most of the states has come down drastically, this is the right time to further intensify the joint operation against the left wing extremists.
